Core Responsibilities:
Facilitate the Agile Delivery Practice 

  • Be ever-present and lead daily scrum calls, elaborations, and other agile ceremonies
  • Engage regularly with product managers and senior management to understand direction and goals for the products
  • Re-affirm and clarify business requirements and vision during various points of the agile development process
  • Sign-off that stories were delivered with the anticipated business value or technical enablement
  • Evaluate agile productivity metrics and recommend adjustments to process or team rhythm to improve efficiency
  • Remove or escalate team impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments that jeopardize sprint goals
  • Expertise with agile, understanding not just how it typically works, but why – the rhythm, focus, spirit and collaboration it represents
·         Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving.
·         Facilitating getting the work done without coercion or assigning or dictating the work.

Support the Product Team 
  • Maintain and advocate a defined roadmap and healthy backlog of common capabilities intended for the solutions while keeping technical debt at a minimum.
  • Facilitate value-based prioritization and resolution for new stories
  • Promote and contribute to internal and external communications, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Support the PO to translate product objectives into actionable epics and stories that are well-written, descriptive, and often more technical in nature given the type of products we offer.

Operational and LOB support.
Create/update support procedure templates as required
Implement security policies as set out by Teranet.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred skills
Qualifications:
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 2 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Experience working across international borders
  • At least 5 years of experience in Java /J2EE environment.
  • Experience in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: various Burn down technologies, many Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of system development life cycle.
  • Experience supporting 24x7 production applications.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and coach the team to reach their highest potential
  • Collaborative approach to driving decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Systems Environment:
Multi-tier web based solutions, wide variety of hardware and operating systems
(Linux, AIX, Windows, etc.), Oracle, MS SQL, GIT, JIRA.

Development Environment and Tools:
Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, JDBC, SOA, XSLT, AngularJS, Java Scripts, JQuery, JSON, Ajax, GWT, CSS, HTML 5, XML, HTML, Web Services.

Debugging tools, application servers (Weblogic, Tomcat), Apache, Linux, scripting tools and languages, Oracle, Eclipse, Jira, Gerrit , GIT, UML, Knowledge of modelling tools. Hailstorm for vulnerability testing and Fortify for code security scanning.
